What are the implications of Artificial intelligence (AI)? But first, what is AI? According to John McCarthy- father of AI- " It is the science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs".
Connor Upton - Data Design Director @ Fjord, Design, and Innovation - talked about how AI is "deeply interwoven into many of our interactions with digital platforms and the wider world". For that reason, the term is confusing itself and is open to the debate if we can trust or the unattended consequences, such as racial and gender bias, compliance and collateral damages that generated when it is implemented.
For Upton, it is necessary to start translating the computational terms in humans terms. That will make this technology accessible and easy to comprehend. During his presentation in the Designing Intelligence event at Science Gallery in Dublin, he showed examples of how with our devices it's possible to enhance our senses and experience in their everyday tasks.

Data Design Director, one of the ideas that need to change is the approach that we have about AI in society and in the workplace, where it is the belief that AI is coming to replace human interactions or labour force. He believes in what Kevin Kelly said " It is not a race against the machines...It is a race with the machine"

In the event, Gene Kogan - artist, teacher, and programmer explained how AI has been used to created collaborative art, explorer the different dimensions and opportunities that offer for an artist to reimagined or represent what is already in their heads. He showed one of the works where they doodle instruments and music happen. Kogan's works and talks are free and available.
AI has challenges and opportunities, more debates and talks are necessary to understand how this technology could help us to shape and transform our realities.
